Edward painted this view of Long Reef Beach from North Curl Curl headland. The rising sun caught the water and stopped him. He made his way over the rocks, through sea-slime, as the headland opened toward the beach. What he saw was stunning: rock, tide and light in a fleeting arrangement. Surfboard still under his arm, he took it in. The ocean’s sparkle dances across the surface, the rocks hold a damp, weathered texture and above it all, the sky stretches open and clear.
