Edward has painted a portrait of Grace during a sunset in Sydney Harbour. The sun is above the edge of the horizon and begins to dip. The strong, warm glow lights up the harbour and onto her skin. It is this exact moment that brings feelings of warmth and clarity, and her expression reminds us that the sun will fall and rise again, symbolising resilience and new beginnings.
To capture this sunset shot, Edward chose Bradley’s Head and experimented with several types of photographic techniques. These included golden hour photography, sunset silhouette photography, and low-light photography. These photography techniques pushed his boundaries and allowed him to capture the great amount of light, colour, and detail on Grace’s skin and features.
